WHEN RIVE Collects Your Information
We collect your information when you:
register to use the Service;
use the Service and when you do not use the Service; and
communicate with us.
We also collect information, such as anonymous usage statistics, by using cookies, server logs, and other similar technologies as you use the Service.
Registration. To use the Service, you will need to create an account by providing us with certain information, such as your name, phone number, and email address. We also may obtain other information from you during the registration process with your permission, such as your photo. If you register to set up and administer a group comprised of other account holders who also use the Service (a “Group Account”), you will also need to provide certain information (e.g., phone numbers) of each group member to be associated with that Group Account, and you represent and warrant to us that you will only add group members who wish to be added to such Group Account.
Using (or Not Using) the Service. We collect information about your use of the Service. For example, we collect data about how far and how long you have driven while using the Service. We also may collect information about your non-use of the Service. For example, we may collect data regarding whether you used the Service while driving and if so, for how long.
Customer Support. We collect information that you provide to us through your communications with our customer-support team.
Location Information. We collect and store your location information if you enable your mobile device to send it to us, such as by use of geolocation features in the device(s) through which you access the Service, or by inference from other information we collect (for example, your IP address indicates the general geographic region from which you are connecting to the Internet).
Information from Third Parties. We may collect information about you from third parties, such as your Group Account members.
Mobile Device Information. We receive information from your mobile device, such as IP address, device information, and unique device identifiers.
Cookies, Automatic Data Collection, and Related Technologies. The Service collects and stores information that is generated automatically as you use it, including your preferences and anonymous usage statistics.
When you visit the Service, we and our third-party service providers receive and record information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, and from cookies and similar technology. Our service providers may collect information about your online activities over time and across different online services. Cookies are small text files placed on your computer browser when you visit a website. Most browsers allow you to block and delete cookies. However, if you do that, then the Service may not work properly.
By using the Service, you are authorizing us to gather, parse, and retain data related to the provision of the Service.
How RIVE Uses Your Information
We use your information to:
provide and improve our Service; and
communicate with you.
We may use aggregate information for any purpose permitted by applicable law, including for marketing purposes.
Internal and Service-Related Usage. We use information, including unique identifiers and your location for internal and service-related purposes, such as data analytics, and may share this information with service providers to allow us to provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
Communications. We use your information to communicate with you, including to provide you with updates and news about Rive and/or the Service and for operational purposes, such as account management, customer service, or system maintenance.
You Consent to Receive SMS Text Messages and Emails from Us. By providing us with your mobile telephone number and email address, you consent to receive text messages at that mobile number and email messages at that email address as requested for account verification, invitations, and other purposes related to the Service. While we do not charge a fee for text messages, your carrier may charge standard messaging, data, and other fees. You are responsible for these charges. Text messages may be sent through cellular telephone operators or other networks, and the level of reliability may vary. We are not responsible for the timeliness or final delivery of the message, as this is out of our control and is the responsibility of the cellular telephone operator or other networks.
Aggregate Data. We may de-identify and aggregate data collected through the Service and use it for any lawful purpose.
RIVE May Disclose Your Information
We may share your information:
with other authorized users;
with our third-party service providers;
to comply with legal obligations;
to protect and defend rights, property and safety; and
with your permission.
We do not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with third parties for their direct marketing purposes, unless we have your permission.
Users in Your Account. If your account is associated with a Group Account, then other authorized users associated to that Group may have access to information we collect about your driving behavior via the Service, including how far and how long you drove, and whether you used the Service while you were driving.
We Use Vendors and Service Providers. We may share any information that we receive through the Service with vendors and service providers retained in connection with the provision of the Service, including for data analytics purposes. One of the service providers that we use for data analytics is Google Analytics. If you do not want Google Analytics to collect and use information about your use of the Services, then you can install an opt-out in your web browser (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/), subject to the availability of such opt-out functionality (which, for clarity, we are not responsible for).
With Your Consent. We may also disclose your information with your permission.
Choices you have with your information
Account Information. Through your account settings, you can update some of your personal information, such as your name, photo, and email address. You can also contact us at email@example.com to update your information.
If you are under 18, then you have a right to request removal of any of your personal information. If you would like Rive to delete your personal information, then please email Rive at firstname.lastname@example.org, but note that if we receive such a request, we may notify any Group Account leaders of the same. Please also note that such removal will only delete your Rive account and does not ensure that your information will be completely or comprehensively deleted.
Opt-out. You can unsubscribe from promotional emails from us via the unsubscribe link provided in the email. Even if you opt out from receiving promotional messages from us, you will continue to receive administrative messages from us.
Security of Your Information
DO NOT TRACK
Some web browsers incorporate a “Do Not Track” feature. Because there is not yet an accepted standard for how to respond to Do Not Track signals, our website does not currently respond to such signals.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 and we do not want it. We will take steps to delete it if we learn we have collected it.
We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use personal information, as defined by the Federal Trade Commission’s Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) Rule, from children under 13 years of age, and no part of the Service is directed to children under the age of 13. If you learn that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, you may alert us at email@example.com. If we learn that we have collected any personal information from children under 13, then we will promptly take steps to delete such information and terminate the child’s account.
By using the Service, you will transfer data to the United States.
If you visit the Service from the European Union or other regions with laws governing data collection and use, then please note that you are agreeing to the transfer of your information to the United States and processing globally. By providing your information to the Service, you consent to any transfer and processing in accordance with this Policy.
